Microsoft announced a new service recently, but it was almost unheard. People know about it, but not enough and nobody really made a point to let anyone know of the service. Games on Demand is coming this August. What is it? Games on Demand let's you buy and download full retail games like Mass Effect and Assassin's Creed onto your Xbox 360. It will launch with only a few titles, and it's not known exactly what we'll see on it. Will all new games be added? Only select titles? We don't know any of that yet. We also don't know how much space these games will take up, but I'd have to think that it will be a lot. And that stinks for me because I still have a 20GB harddrive so it looks like I'll either have to upgrade, or I could simply just continue buying the retail copy. Games on Demand will take Microsoft Points, debit, and credit cards to buy games.
So DJ Hero is a new game from FreeStyleGames where they try to bring new songs and song genres to the music Hero franchise and where you use a turntable controller to play. Looks decent, I'd only play it at parties though.
Here's the image that was shown in the behind doors Miyamota roundtable discussion. Before I saw this I've heard Link looks older and that there was some figure in front of Link who everyone assumed to be Zelda. First off I don't think Link looks much older than he has in any past game. Second, that is no Zelda. Oh and one more thing, where's his sword?
It may not have been shown during the conference, but Miyamoto did mention a new Zelda game for Wii during is developer's round table speech. He even showed some art of the game, a picture with Link and what appears to be Zelda.
If you were wondering why there was no new Zelda news at Nintendo's E3 press conference this morning, it's because Mr. Miyamoto wanted to save a little something for his own private roundtable. At the closed door, no-photographs-allowed discussion with a select group of journalists this afternoon, the man who created Link dropped details and showed off artwork of the Hero in Green's next iteration.
The next console Zelda adventure will feature a Link who is more mature than ever before, and a swordplay system that is far more advanced than any ever seen before in the series. The game may ship as a MotionPlus-only design, as well, which should give you an idea of the swordfighting scheme Shigeru has in the works.
"Think of Zelda while you're trying some of the archery and sword play in Wii Sports Resort," Miyamoto said.
If the next Zelda were to employ MotionPlus in that way (and it totally will), it would be a significant shift for the property -- and one that may well be the change the franchise needs.
"There are people who think of Zelda more as an RPG with simpler controls, so trying to figure out how to make everybody happy is something that's going to concern me," says Miyamoto.
Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available. And get hyped!
This sounds awesome! Team Ninja, makers of Ninja Gaiden, are collaborating with Nintendo to bring a new Metroid game to the Wii. It looks more mature as the story seems to follow the beginning story of Samus. I had no idea what this trailer was when it was shown live until almost a minute into it.
The game sounds pretty good. New SMB on DS was fun, but quick and short. Hopefully this one is more challenging and much longer. It's also 4 players which sounds pretty hectic and fun.
This was one of the games I got really excited to hear was at E3 because I'm really pumped for it to be released. Too bad it won't be out for awhile, just like every other game I want.
